Belva (“Bubs”) Delilah Snell, 95, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Monday, October 29, 2018. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, Kansas. Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Spring Hill, Kansas. Belva Bottolfson was born on July 6, 1923 in Hartington, Nebraska to Nels Martin and Grace May (Bowers) Bottolfson. She grew up in Hartington where she graduated from Hartington High School in 1942. Belva married Marcus “Lloyd” Snell on January 8, 1946 in Mission, Kansas and they celebrated 72 years of marriage together. Belva worked at the Olathe Naval Air Station during World War II. Later, she did volunteer fundraising for the first Shawnee Mission Hospital. Belva was an excellent wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She took great care of her family and showered them with love. She was honest, gentle, selfless, and kind. Belva enjoyed gardening, cooking, dolls, animals, dancing, and “Big Band” music. She had a strong, quiet faith in the Lord. Belva was inspired by Billy Graham and she was a longtime active member of the Overland Park Christian Church, including the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Family and friends will dearly miss sweet Belva and they will always be grateful for the memories of the love, care, and kindness she bestowed upon them.

Belva was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Muriel, Bill, Doris, Bernice, and Leona. Belva is survived by her husband, Lloyd; son, Marcus Snell Jr. (Felicia), Greenwood, Indiana; daughter, Kathy Jo Hardinger, Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Evelyn Beets, Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jason) Yoder, Heather Hardinger (Chad Stewart), David (Laura) Snell, and Dennis Snell; and three great-grandchildren, Erin Snell, Noelle Yoder, and Connor Snell.
