Obituary for Paul "Barry" Killinger Sr.

Paul “Barry” Killinger, Sr., 76, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018.

He was born May 10, 1942 in Carlisle. Barry was a son of the late Paul L., Jr. and Helen Louise Durnin Killinger.

Barry first worked for E.C. Barnes Oil Co. in St. Thomas and then for many years worked at the Sunoco Gas Station at Exit 29 in Shippensburg. He was a Lifetime member of the Shippensburg First Church of God. Barry was United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a 1960 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School. Barry was a Shippensburg Little League coach. He was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Life Member of West End Fire & Rescue, Cumberland Valley Hose Company and the Vigilant Hose Company all in Shippensburg. Barry was a former member of the Shippensburg Fire Police. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Rollinson Killinger, two sons, Paul B. (Lori) Killinger, Jr. of Hanover and R. Daniel Killinger of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Katelyn (Layton) Hoffman of Amberson, Paul Michael, Ethan James and Jacob Drew Killinger all of Hanover, one great-grandson, Maverick Hoffman of Amberson, three brothers, Richard and Terry of Shippensburg and John of Maine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Pastor Brian Markle. Burial with military honors will be conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion Post # 223 Minutemen in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
