It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Theodosia Green. Theodosia Green passed in peace on Thursday November 1, 2018.

Mother Green “Hun” was born July 22, 1913 in “Belzoni” Oxford Mississippi to Porter Burns and Mary Harris.

She was a resident of Caruthersville, Missiouri until she moved to New York in 1947 where her mother had already relocated. Upon moving to NY she first resided in Buchanan and then she made her way over to Peekskill NY to be closer to her mother. Mother Green, (as she was known to many) became a homemaker for various families shortly after she arrived in New York. She joined the Refuge Church of Christ is 1948 where she was a very active member. Mother Green participated is various groups throughout her time at the church including missionary and youth services. In her later years, Mother Green enjoyed listening to Christian services and Christian music on her television.

All that knew Mother Green loved her; she was kind, loving and strong willed. She was very independent and although, her vision was impaired you could try, but you could not get one over on Mother Green, she considered herself to be a little “inquisitive”. She liked to be kept in the loop about everything that was going on around her. She wanted to know about “things” before they even happen. She was a woman of strong faith, she truly loved the Lord. If you stopped by to visit Mother Green two things were for certain she always had a song in her heart and a praise for the Lord on her lips. She would often say phrases like “God is good, all the time,” and “don’t worry God will fix it”.

Mother Green leaves to cherish her memories her son, Willie Pate (Clinton, Mississippi), daughter Ethel Hudson (Peekskill, New York), 27 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren, 117 great-great grandchildren and 6 great-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Green in 1976, brother Milton Burns, sister- Mattie Burns, sons -Albert (Jr) and Elbert Green, daughter- Sarah Bellamy, three granddaughters Diane Woodton, Badeana Bellamy and Lowesten “Lois” Hudson and one great-granddaughter Latoria Hudson and her previous husband Nathan Pate.
