Virginia M. Washburn of Bliss, NY died Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, NY at the age of 89.
She was born January 28, 1929 in Bliss, NY a daughter of the late Archie and Ruth (nee Jones) Hurlburt. She was a member of the Bliss Baptist Church.
She was a store clerk for the Eagle General Store and an Engineer at Robeson's Cutlery in Castile. Prior to working at Robeson's she had worked at the Wallace 5 & 10¢ store in Arcade and also for Fisher Price in East Aurora.
She is survived by her children: Terry (Kari) Washburn of Chaffee and Larry Washburn of Buffalo; her brother - Howard (Jane) Hurlburt of Sandusky; her grandchildren: Aaron and Caleb (Liana) Washburn; her great-grandchildren: Desirai, Jayden, Everett, and Autumn; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Washburn, who she married August 23, 1947 in Buffalo; her great-grandchild: Ragan.
Friends may call Monday, November 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade where a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 11 AM. Rev. Richard Reed will officiate. Interment will be held in Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bliss Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 6655 Rt. 362, Bliss, NY 14024.
