Rex C. Love, Jr., (age 82) passed away November 1, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer.
Rex was born on October 23, 1936 in Pueblo, Colorado to Rex Sr. and Magdalene (Anna) Love. His family who lived in Lime, Colorado at the time relocated to Canon City shortly after he was born.
Rex spent most of his life in and around Canon City where he attended St. Michael School and graduated from the Abbey. He then went on to attend Regis University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting.
Rex was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
On June 25, 1966 he married Jo Ellen Goodale at St. Michael Catholic Church in Canon City.
Rex worked as an assistant administrator and controller at St. Thomas More Hospital and Progressive Care Center for 20 years before he began operating his own accounting business for many years.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Rex enjoyed the Colorado mountains and the many wonderful streams.
Rex is survived by his wife, Jo Ellen; daughter, Regina (Jeff) Perkins; grandsons, Matthew Perkins and Luke Perkins; sisters, Barbara Love(David) Wells, Mary Jane Dickinson; brother, Tim (Pasty) Love; along with many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce Love.
Vigil (Rosary) service, 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. Anthony Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. November 9, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
