Obituary for Margaret E. Gozdieski (Simms)
Margaret E. (Simms) Gozdieski, 83, of the Holiday Heights section of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Saturday November 3, 2018 at her home.
Margie was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Rutherford, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 7 years ago. She worked for Fairleigh Dickinson University in the Food Service Administration and was a parishioner of St John's Lutheran Church in Rutherford, NJ. Margie loved her grandchildren and extended family of sons, brother, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Due to ALS, her ability to speak was taken, but she had constant internet text communication with her extended family.
Margie is predeceased by her husband Marion “Mike” Gozdieski. She is survived by her three sons Michael Gozdieski of Toms River, NJ, Jeff Gozdieski and his wife Maureen, of Westfield, NJ, and John Gozdieski of Manville, NJ, two grandchildren, Erik and Jarek, her brother Eugene Simms and her brother-in-law Henry Carratini, both of Smithtown, Long Island, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4-8pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A funeral service will take place on Friday November 16, 2018 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow to BG William C. Doyle Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The ALS Association www.alsa.org. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com.
