Condolence: I don't recall the exact period in time, but it was 1981 or 1982 when I had the pleasure of working with Dave at Nieman Chevrolet with Tom Northcott and Bruce Price among his many friends.
Dave was continuously tweaking his Harley-Davidson motorcycle - eagerly preparing it for his next ride, which he enjoyed immensely.

Then, one Saturday I learned Dave was hospitalized; from what I recall a back/spinal cord matter and was flat on his back in the Hailey Medical Clinic. Accompanied by a female acquaintance, we payed a visit to Dave - check in on him.
Dave had a request for us: sneak in a bottle of VO, Jack or Black Velvet. We repaired to the liquor store, made a selection, and not to draw attention delayed our return.
Arriving back at the hospital (pint bottle in my bomber jacket's inner pocket) we played dumb - indicating we just had one appointment and promised Dave we'd return once the appointment was fulfilled, which we did.

Seeing "the coast was clear," I drew the bottle from my jacket, opened it and handed it over to Dave; he took a big long swig and handed the bottle back - thanking me for the "pain reliever!"
We finished our visit, wished Dave a speedy recovery, and headed out; Dave appearing to feel less pain.

A kinder, more pleasant man would be hard to locate. May the Good Lord grant him eternal peace.

Condolence: Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Dave's family & friends. We knew him in the late 60's & early 70's when he worked for John Steile at the Western Auto store in Jerome. He was always so friendly & courteous, hard to find good customer service like that in today's retail world. Genuinely happy to see & help you of course with a few laughs thrown in for fun. We always thought we might be shirt tail relatives so called him "Cuz". Remember the good times, & live every day to the fullest.
