Cappy Sioux Stevens, 58, of Walton, KY passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at her home in Walton. She was born on January 10, 1960 in Truth or Consequences, NM to Don Benzel and Judy McFarland. Cappy was a devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a floral buyer. She loved caring for her gardens and truly enjoyed the beauty of flowers. She also loved professional baseball and would travel all over the country watching games in different stadiums. While living in Florida, Cappy spent the majority of her free time enjoying all the different spring training camps across the state. She also loved Nascar, especially Jimmy Johnson, and she would try to attend every race she could. She was preceded in death by her mother: Judy Benzel, and her former husband: Lamont Stevens. Cappy is survived by her loving children: Monneray Stevens (Andrew Broering), and Cannan Stevens, her beloved grandson: Keegan Harvey, her significant other: David Kelly, her dear siblings: Gaye McFarland, Michael Benzel (Karen), and Paul Benzel (Heather), and several loving nieces, nephews, and friends. On Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. friends and family will be attending the Opening Day Parade together in her memory. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Aloft on the Levee, 201 East 3rd Street, Newport, KY. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators (Hospice of the Bluegrass) at 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042.
