Mildred D. (Millie) Procop, 96 yrs old, died peacefully on Nov. 24th in Needham.

Born June 16th, 1922 in Boston. She was the daughter of Charles and Amelia Stemmler. Educated and raised in Boston where she married her best friend Tommy Procop.

Through hard work and savings Millie and Tom bought their first home in Medfield in the Early 50’s and subsequently a summer cottage in Moultonboro, NH. Well regarded as a bookkeeper and financial manager she worked for many years at the Thomas Upham House.

When their only child, Peter, was born she became a lifelong advocate and supporter of the State Department of Developmental Services and Children with Disabilities.

Millie was a member of UCC of Medfield and enjoyed bringing Peter to the services, when her health allowed her to do so. Millie was always known for her easy going ways and infectious smile.

She is survived by her son Peter of Norwood, sister Larae Graham of Woodbury Conn and her nieces and nephews Larae Lang, Kerri Graham, Scott Graham and Eric Arnold.

Millie is also survived by her healthcare advocate, caregiver and loving daughter she never had, Joyce Rose.

She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband Thomas Procop, brother Charles Stemmler and sister June Arnold.
