Mrs. Juanita Gail Mitchell Wells, age 50, of St. Paul, Virginia, passed away Sunday (December 9, 2018). She was born January 2, 1968 in Richlands, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of southwest Virginia area. She was a 1986 graduate of Honaker High School, received her Bachelors Degree from Emory and Henry, and had also went on to receive her Masters Degree. She had been employed for the past twenty years as a permit and environmental specialist with VDOT, working in the Abingdon, Virginia office. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Howard Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband of twenty-nine years, Randy Lee Wells of the home; two children, Joshua Lee Wells and wife, Rachel, and Aleah Carol Johnson all of Honaker; four grandchildren, Arabellah Grace Johnson, Elizabeth Ilene Wells, Haley Nicole Wells, and Adrienne Faith Wells; her father, Dawyer Mitchell of Honaker; her mother, Pamela Gail Brady Mitchell of Honaker; one brother, Terry Mitchell and wife Dorothy; two sisters, Diana Taylor and husband, Jeffery, and Joanna Christopher; maternal grandmother, Virginia Brady of Hillsville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Ben Mitchell, Jeff Taylor, Jaryd Anderson, Andrew Zieba, Rick Hess, and Coty Hess.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Harman Kilgore.
