Obituary for Thomas Alan Gauthier

Hartford- Thomas Alan Gauthier, 76, a resident of Hartford, passed away, Wednesday evening, December 19th at his residence. He was born September 9, 1942, in Waterbury Connecticut, the son of Noe and Freida (Gokey) Gauthier. He was a 1960 graduate from Woodbury High School. He received his teaching degree from the University of Southern Maine. On October 28, 1961, in San Diego, California, he married Darlene Hahn. Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy from 1960-1983. He was a teacher at Mountain Valley High School and retired in 2008. He was a communicant at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, a member of the MTA, NTA, Knights of Columbus in Jay, VFW Post 1641 in Rumford and the Norway Fish and Game Club. Tom loved reading sacred scripture and sharing that and his faith with RCIA classes at St. Rose. He enjoyed target shooting, fishing, taking photographs and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Darlene Gauthier, his daughters; Renée Gauthier of Naples, Florida and Andrea Damon and her husband Andy of Norway, six grandchildren, and his brother Larry Gauthier. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers; Wilfred and Raymond Gauthier. He will be greatly missed. Thomas Alan Gauthier, a resident of Hartford, Maine. A mass of Christian burial will be held, 11AM, Thursday, December 27, 2018, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church Street, Jay Maine. Interment with full military honors will be held in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
