Donnie Lee Toms passed away December 25, 2018 at Baylor Medical in Dallas. He was born
September 2, 1949 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Lee Toms Jr. and Catherine Carpenter Toms.
Donnie was a mechanic throughout his life and retired from KMart Distribution Center after 20+ years. After retiring, he went back to school and received his Masters Electrician Certification. He was a member of the National Guard and liked to tinker with electronics and auto mechanics, in addition to building and welding porch swings. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Hightower, sister Cathy Bikle, and love of his life, wife, Mary Toms.
He is survived by father, Lee Toms Jr., daughters Amanda Motley and Meesha Toms, grandchildren Hagen Holloway and Peyton Briggs, great grandchildren Addison and Waylon Holloway, and his faithful four-legged companion, Beauregard.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 30 from 2-4 p.m.at Corley Funeral home. There will be a private burial at a later date.
