Angel Cruz Jimenez passed away on December 25, 2018, surrounded by his family at Jefferson Hospice in Warminster. He was 70 years old. Formerly of Caguas, Puerto Rico and Warren, NJ, Angel was a resident of Warrington for many years.
Angel was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was the son of the late Angel Cruz Rodriguez and Dolores Jimenez Reyes.
Angel was the husband of Gladys Cruz Garcia who together had been married for 47 years.
Angel had attended the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus where he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He received his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park, and had earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.
Angel had graduated from the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corp, followed by 3 months of active duty and 7 years of service in the Army Reserve.
He was employed for 27 years with Schering-Plough Corp., in Biotechnology Research and Development. In his free time Angel enjoyed boating, fishing, although not catching, wood working, coin collecting and learning to play the cuarto.
In addition to his wife Gladys, Angel is survived by his children Shaela, Kristina and Angel Cruz (Melissa Kluge). He was the grandfather, known as Abu, of Frankie, Diego and Mia.
Angel’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday January 4, 2019 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Ave, Warrington, where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Interment will be held privately.
