Obituary for Apolonio "Paul" Figueroa

Wilson – Funeral Services for Apolonio “Paul” Figueroa, 86, of Wilson, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 31, 2018 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ardmore with FR. Kevin Ratterman officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Paul was born October 28, 1932 in Buttonwillow, CA to the late Mr. Jesus Figueroa and Mrs. Maria de la luz (Villavazo) Figueroa. He passed from this life on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Oklahoma City.

Paul grew up in Buttonwillow, CA and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952. He met the love of his life, Toni, and they were married on September 5, 1954.
Together the couple lived in Buttonwillow where they began their family. Paul worked as a mechanic at Lockheed and later as a cross country truck driver.
He moved to Wilson in 1978 to be stationed between his work routes. Paul also worked at the Presidents Bakery also known as the Marietta Cookie Factory and retired from there. He received an honorary diploma from Wilson High School in 2016. Paul was always friendly and enjoyed visiting with people around town.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Antonia “Toni” Figueroa; parents; sister, Teresa Hernandez; daughter, Sally Figueroa and daughter-in-law, Judy Figueroa.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Martha Ballard and husband Mark of Ardmore; sons, Luie Figueroa and wife Nita of Cedar City, UT, Jesse Figueroa and wife Debbie of Wilson, and Paul Figueroa of Lone Grove; brother, Henry Figueroa of Baldwin Park, CA; 6 grandchildren, Jessie Figueroa, Chris Figueroa, Michael Figueroa, Brian Figueroa, Chelsea Hatton, and Christina Braden; 13 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Carl Powell, Melvin Kroth, Ritchy Wright, Jim Acres, Robert Jacobo, and Eddie Hess.

A family visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8P.M. at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
