Condolence From: Danielle Montgomery
Condolence: I sadly never got to meet this man, my grandfather.

My father was born and raised in the west and never had a relationship with him. Unfortunately it seems.

Learning what I have been able to gather has been a really rewarding experience. I visited cobalt; and where he lay to rest and I’m thankful because although discovering him now that he isn’t with us is terribly sad, it’s been really important for me on my path of building self-esteem.

And truly just learning a bit about who he was has helped me see who I am, and who my father was; I now feel as if I got to help heal family trauma in a way my father never got to in his lifetime. A closure he sought.

And I’m so thankful for that;

it has changed my life and helped me on my path.

And the photos of him here and getting to see that handsome man’s face throughout more of his life brings me a lot of joy. I had only ever seen the Photo Booth one.

Thank you William Montgomery! Your life was such a blessing to those around you and I can’t think of a greater man that ever was.

To a life well lived.

Condolence: My father, George Sorenson, always spoke very highly of Bill Montgomery. He was one of my father's bosses at the Agnico Eagle Mines I recognized the name 'William Montgomery' as soon as I saw it.

Condolence: I knew Bill as a customer at my hairdressing shop in both Cobalt and Latchford. I cut his hair since 2011. He had worked with both my great grandfathers, whom I'd never met, at the sawmill in Latchford. He had also worked with my grandfather at that same mill. His stories told me things about relatives I'd never met, and filled in gaps for me. He was a wonderfully nice man, with a great sense of humour. I will miss him.
