Obituary for Helen Jo Cox (Nichols)

Milo - Services for Mrs. Helen Jo (Nichols) Cox of Healdton will be held 10AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Milo Baptist Church of Milo with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Milo Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Helen was born July 20, 1938 at Sweetwater, OK to the late Mr. Johnie Carroll Nichols and Mrs. Georgie Lou (Fletcher) Nichols. She departed this life Monday, December 31, 2018 in Oklahoma City.

Helen was raised at Sayre, OK where she attended High School. She married Mr. Jimmie Cox on January 25, 1969 at Oklahoma City. The family moved to Moore and then to Tishomingo where Helen worked as an Insurance Agent for the E.J. Tolbert Agency. After retiring in 2000, the couple relocated to just north of Healdton to be closer to their family. Helen loved making all of the kids clothes, quilting, and doing embroidery. She also collected glassware along with porcelain and glass frogs.

Preceding her in death are her Parents.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Cox of the home; children, Stacey Coffey and husband Marty of Konawa, Laveda Higgins and husband John of Ardmore and Carol Lockwood and husband Charley of Ringling; 2 brothers, Raymond Nichols and wife Robbie of Wichita, KS and Clyde Nichols and wife Sue of Tucson, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Ross, Autumn, Sahara, Brandon, Arrin, Nikki, and Cole; 5 great grandchildren, Peyton, Merrick, Boston, Braxton, and Maddie; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Cole Lockwood, Charley Lockwood, Nikki Jo Lockwood, Brandon Higgins, Ross Coffey, and Marty Coffey.

Honorary bearers are John Higgins, Braxton Coffey, Scott Hill, Boston Higgins, Shane Nichols, Gordon Nichols, Albert Nichols, Reo Nichols, Jeff Nichols, Blake Nichols, Raymond Carroll, Barney Nichols, Darrel Cox, Johnny Cox, Randy Cox, Alan Cox, Gerald Cox, Seth Cox, Aaron Cox, and Kaleb Cox.

Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8PM at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling.
