Obituary for Loretta Harrer

Print
Loretta A Harrer, age 84 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2019. Born November 2, 1934 Loretta graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1952 and went on to work at Wisconsin Public Service Corp, for many years prior to getting married. She married Robert J. Harrer. They then went on to establish the Harrer Insurance & Realty Agency, on Post Road in Whiting. She retired in 1998 and settled in to a quiet life, enjoying doing yard work around her house, spending time with her niece, and going to local casinos. She loved to play the slots, and always seemed to come out a winner. She also loved going to Las Vegas and dining out with her best friend Jim. Humble and quite as she was, she was spirited and enjoyed pulling shenanigans with her partner in crime Jim.
Loretta was a very caring and giving woman. She would never put herself first, even when she should have. Everyone who knew her gained something from it. She was an Angel in disguise, ready to help anyone who needed it. She adored her niece Cassie and helped raise her from birth. Cassie was her passion, she meant everything to her, as did her other nieces Amy Michelkamp, Custer and Sara Michelkamp Campbell, Norwalk, IA. Both whom she also helped raise from a young age, to help her sister-in-law and brother out, while they were working. They were her main purpose.

She was preceded in death by husband Robert Harrer and parents Peter and Helen Michelkamp. Loretta is survived by: brothers Peter (Marion) Michelkamp and Ron (Sherry) Michelkamp; sisters, Rosemary (Jerry) Sjolsvold, Elsie (Chet) Bembenek and Judy (Ken) Kazmierczak; brother-in-law Herb (Kathy) Harrer; Amy Michelkamp & Sara Michelkamp Campbell & Cassie Fletcher, as well as many other loving family members and friends. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life at a later date.

Loretta has been taken to the special place that was prepared just for her by God. She is with Him, and all that went before her. She has now been made brand new and suffers no longer. She was loved by all who knew her. Her gentle Spirit will be in our hearts forever. We will not forget you Loretta. Rest in Peace Dear.
