Obituary for Audrey Marie Belanger (Hemeon)
Belanger, Audrey Marie – With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Audrey Marie Belanger at the age of 85 years. Audrey passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Temiskaming Hospital.
Audrey was born at Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland August 15, 1933 to the late James and Minnie Hemeon. She had an immeasurable love for her family. She was a very nurturing and loving mother and grandmother. Audrey was always very respectful of others and taught her children to treat others with kindness. Audrey is also remembered as an amazing cook who created many delicious meals for her family over the years. She was a fiercely loving and strong willed gal. She instilled an indestructible sense of family. We will feel her eternal love forever present.
Predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Denis, three brothers and five sisters. Our hearts are broken but we know her infinite love will continue to unite us. We are so grateful to have her for our mother. Her loving children: Diane [late Albert] Peddie of Englehart, Wayne Belanger of Harley Township, Lawrence [Shirley] Belanger of New Liskeard, Steven [Wendy] Belanger of North Bay, Rose Belanger [Denis] of Latchford, Marilyn Belanger [Byron] of Thornloe, Brenda Belanger of Sudbury, Shirley [Wayne] Watchorn of Cobalt and Kelly Belanger [Ari] of Huntsville. Fondly remembered by twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Audrey is also survived by her loving companion Kenneth Johnston and his family. They enjoyed many hours singing, dancing and time together jamming.
The Belanger family will welcome friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church – New Liskeard on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 am. Father Lionel Tanguay officiating. Spring interment will take place at the New Liskeard Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the “Bevi” Beverly-Ann Boros Hospice Palliative Care Suite [cheques only] will be gratefully acknowledged.
