Obituary for Daniel Wilkie "Big Dan" Corner
Daniel “Big Dan” Wilkie Corner 65 of Harrison passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Daniel was born June 11, 1953 in Cairo, Illinois the son of Richard Wilkie Corner and Rosemary (O’Hara) Corner. Daniel was united in marriage to Joni L. Linville on June 30, 2018 in Grayling, Michigan.
Mr. Corner had resided in Harrison since 2007, moving from Mount Morris, Michigan. Dan loved nature and spending his time outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, yard work and landscaping with rock, stone and logs. He was known to many for his love of early 70’s and Native American Music. Dan was passionate towards his “fur son”, Yogi Bear, his beloved dog.
Surviving Mr. Corner is his loving wife and best friend, Joni L. Corner of Harrison, two daughters; Kasey (Josh) Zamarron and Audra (Carrie) Lehnert, one son, James G. Linville, seven grandchildren, three brothers; James (Glenndean) Corner, John (Sharon) Corner and Chuck (Laura) Corner, one brother in law, Henry Florshinger, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Corner was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and one sister, Mikki L. Florshinger.
A Celebration of Life gathering honoring Mr. Corner will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison, Michigan.
