Lucy A. (Chiarillo) Yacawych, 85, of Bristol, wife of the late Charles Yacawych, passed away peacefully at Ingraham Manor Nursing Home on January 29, 2019. Lucy (Lucia) was born in Bristol, CT on October 22, 1933. She was a daughter of the late Biagio and Filomena (LaPenta) Chiarillo. Lucy attended St. Anthony High School and was a lifetime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bristol. Lucy embraced her Italian family traditions of spending Sundays together. She opened her home on Sundays for her family to gather; bringing family together was Lucy’s passion. Baking brought joy to her, and her family enjoyed so many of her delicious desserts. Lucy spent most of her summers at the cottage and beach with her sisters. She is survived by her daughter Louann Yacawych-McGee of Kentucky and her sister Carmela Cliche of Bristol. She was an aunt to so many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Lucy had a magical way of connecting with children. Lucy was predeceased by brothers Paul DiAngelo, Julius Chiarillo, Enrico Chiarillo, and Frank Chiarillo, her sisters Angelina Gwaltney, Dorothy Nicholson, and Ann Amodio.
