Obituary for Alice Blanknagel

Funeral services for Alice Blanknagel age 99 of Beemer, NE will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE with Pastor Priscilla Hukki officiating. Interment will be int he Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is handling the arrangements for the family.

Alice passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.

Alice Elizabeth (Carlson) Blanknagel was born on November 13, 1919 at Bancroft, NE to Ernest and Anna (Carlson) Carlson. She was baptized in Oakland and later confirmed on March 25, 1934 at the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Alice attended Cuming County Rural School.

On October 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Willard Blanknagel at the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. The couple lived on a farm northeast of West Point until 1994, when they moved to Beemer, NE.

Alice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, and enjoyed getting together with the neighborhood ladies when she lived on the farm. She loved gardening, tending to her flowers, baking, writing letters to her relatives in Sweden, and taking care of the animals on the farm. Alice especially loved her cats and dogs.

Brother- Ernest J. Carlson of Marietta, GA

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Willard on September 16, 2003, sisters-Betty Woerman, Irene Von Seggern, Harriet Larson, Doris Olson, brother-Roy Carlson, and a brother in infancy.
