Obituary for Carol Baum

Carol Baum
Hollis Carol White was born August 1, 1945 and departed this life on
April 8, 2019.

Hollis was born in Urania to the union of Sylvia Mae Pendarvis and Hollis Mixon White. She was raised in Tullos, she moved to Olla after marriage and resided there most of her life.

Carol was named for her father, Hollis, who was still serving overseas when she was born. Hollis was a masculine name, but her mother determined to name the child after her father in honor of his service and the possibility he might not return from war.

Carol was predeceased by her parents as well as her grandparents, Ethel Weems Pendarvs and Robert Henry Pendarvis of Tullos, and Susie Mixon White and John Louis White of Georgetown, as well as brothers James Louis White, Michael Mixon White, Barry Steven White and sister, Linda Earlene White. Carol was also predeceased by two husbands, Edward J. Bearden and C.B. Baum. Also predeceasing her is a son, Toren Christopher Bearden.

Surviving her are Brent Edward Bearden, Holly Michelle Bearden Blazier, William Clint Bearden and Stephanie Carol Bearden. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Sue White of Jena and Marilyn D. White of Baton Rouge.
Services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:00 at Pinehill Baptist Church in Olla with Denver McBroom presiding.

Carol was a very unique individual, strong and feisty, but also sweet and caring. She loved being a mother and was proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a child of the 50’s and 60’s and loved music from that era. Carol left a strong impression on people, and will be fondly remembered by many.
Sail on silver girl.
