Obituary for Hubert Howard Harris
Hubert Howard Harris, age 77, Erwin, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a son of the late Jack and Helen Louise Masters Harris.
Hubert was of the Baptist faith. He retired and was enjoying his retirement.
Hubert was a loving and devoted husband and father. He always put his family first and made sure they had everything they needed. Hubert was a hard worker and good provider for his family.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Harris on May 29, 2012.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of thirty-eight years, Carolyn Roberts Harris; two sons: Christopher Harris, Erwin and Shaun Harris (Melodie), Stanton, VA; one daughter, Melissa Harris (Misty Sifford), Johnson City; two sisters: Charlotte Cannon, Henrietta, NC and Donna Morefield (Richard), Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pastor Charles David Byrd will officiate. Music will be provided by his nephew, Allen Morefield. Kevin Horton, Willie Edwards, Darrell Harris, Earl Hensley, Anthony Ousley and Dennis Hensley will serve as pallbearers. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 A.M. Thursday.
