Obituary for Pearl Maybelle Pluff

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Pearl Maybelle Pluff, age 87, announces the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend at their home on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in Battle Creek, MI.
She was born March 26, 1932 in Kalkaska, MI the daughter of Leslie Long and Edith (Bennett) Long.
She received her education from the Detroit Schools. Pearl had been a Press operator at Keyes Davis in Springfield, MI, a metal stamping factory for 25 years, retiring in 1994, before that she worked at US Register in Battle Creek for a couple of years.
She married Wendell Gene Pluff in a barber shop in LaPorte, Indiana on November 26, 1949; the barber was also the Justice of the Peace.
She is survived by husband: Wendell Gene Pluff of Battle Creek, MI; her daughter: Betty and John Allen of Battle Creek, MI; her son: Barry Eugene & Jennifer Pluff of Willis, TX; seven grandchildren; Courtnee K. & Marco Gilliard of Battle Creek, MI; Naomi R. & B. Brandon Crandall of Battle Creek, MI; Aubrey A. & Archie Smith III of Bellevue, MI; Matthew J. Allen of Battle Creek, MI: Samantha, Sabrina and Sarah Pluff of Willis, TX; eleven great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; her sister: Esther Rich of Battle Creek, MI; and her brothers: Duane & Virginia Long of Kalkaska, MI; Jerry & Ella Long of Cadillac, MI.
Preceded in death by her parents, step-mother: Barbara Long; three brothers: James Long, Benny "Bud" Long, and Leroy Long; and two step brothers: Jerry Lee Long and Wendell Charles Long.
She was a member of the Harper Creek congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall. She liked crocheting, sewing, she was an avid gardener, she liked watching nature and feeding the wildlife and birds, she was a sales person for AVON for many years and earned many trips and awards from AVON.
Funeral services will be held at the Harper Creek Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 5561 East Morgan Road, at 12:30 PM Monday, December 2, 2019. Visitation will be after the funeral service at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Monday, December 2, 2019. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
