Obituary for Fay Louise Sidey (Bradden) (Haines)

SIDEY (BRADDEN) (nee Haines), Fay Louise (October 7, 1919- December 25, 2020)
Peacefully in her home with her daughter Deborah D’Orazio (Nick) by her side, Fay couldn’t miss a party and got to heaven in time for the Christmas party.
Born in 1919, she lived her entire life in Welland. At age 101, she is predeceased by more people that could be mentioned… including her first husband Hugh Bradden, her second husband Clem Sidey, her daughter Joy Silvestri (Anthony), and her great-granddaughter Julia Turner. Fay is survived by her sister, Virginia Tuerk, who resides in Elliot Lake.
Fay was born in Welland to Clifford and Lily Haines. She attended Welland High School, and had to walk from the fairgrounds area to get there, sometimes getting a ride from a nice passerby. She worked at the Olympia restaurant, where she met the love of her life Hugh Bradden. They were married and had their first daughter, Joy, on Christmas day 1940. Then Hugh went off to war. During the war, Fay worked as a seamstress like many other war brides. After the war was over, Hugh and Fay had their second daughter Deborah. Hugh passed away at the young age of 41, and Fay later remarried Clem.
She was a devoted grandmother to Klaudia Savona (Bruce), Tina Turner (Paul), Stephen D’Orazio (Holley), and Chris D’Orazio (Erica). She was also very much involved in the lives of her great-grandchildren Kourtney, Dana, Melaney, Julia, Jaclyn, Adrianna, and Jagger.
Fay was an avid sewer, knitter, euchre player and lawn darts player. But she is best known for being the life of the family party. She was often the first to come and the last to leave. Fay loved her family, especially her two daughters. She loved to be with family, have a few drinks, dance and play games. She has left a legacy to her family on how to live life to the fullest and to love the ones around. She hopes that all who knew her will remember her joyful love of life, family and friends.
A special thank you to Dr Kouros and Bonnie for such compassionate care throughout the years. Thank you to Care Coordinator Christina, as well as Paramed PSWs Carly, Maryanne, Nova, Linda, Shannon, Brenda, Susan, Krista and Jillian, and extra hours spent with Fay by Bonnie, Angelica and Alicia. Greatest thanks to Barb Runia, Jocelyn Sidey and Tina Turner for giving Caregiver relief. You are all Angels.
