Obituary for Eva Killian Yates

Eva Killian  Yates
Eva Killian Yates, 97 of Center Point and Nashville, Arkansas, died March 27, 2009 at Howard Memorial Hospital. She was one of eleven children born to John R. Killian and Selia Henry Killian in north Howard County on April 12, 1911. She graduated from Dierks high school and attended college in Durant, Oklahoma, to become a certified school teacher, and taught in rural schools in north Howard County. She was a member of the Center Point Church of Christ and was a past treasurer of the Center Point Cemetery association. She was predeceased by a son, Monty Roger Yates, in 1941. Her husband, Calvin W. Yates, in 1985, and a daughter, Helen Ruth Yates Daniel in 2002. Survivors include her son Jerome Yates and his wife Linda of Fayetteville, Arkansas. A daughter, Lynn Yates Beumer of Savannah, Georgia. Seven Grandchildren, Jennifer Beumer Caroul (Marc), Laura Yates Woodson, (Joseph), Marla Yates Carter, (Robert), Ann-Marie Daniel Sturdivant (Dana), Eric Yates, (Hilary), Robert Daniel, and Valarie Yates Stobaugh, (Jeremy). 16 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 2 pm. at Nashville Funeral Home with Ray Nation officiating. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday night from 6 to 8 pm.
