Long time Rutherglen resident Florence May Forsyth (nee Doughty) passed away peacefully at the NBRHC on January 24th 2018 at the age of 88 years young. Florence was predeceased by her parents William Joseph & Ethel May Doughty (nee Daniel), Husband Odely Donald Forsyth, Brothers William, Russell, Wilfred, Fred & Joseph Doughty, Sister Isabelle Parker, Daughter Charleen Rovere and Grand Daughter Vanessa Rovere. Survived by Sons Donald (Vicki), Robert (Karan), Daughter Charlotte Ackerman and Son-in-Law Giacomo (Jo-Anne), 13 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Originally from Lasalle, Ontario, Flo made her home in Rutherglen area in 1972. Along with her husband Odely, she owned and operated the Sprucewood Shell Station & Restaurant on HWY 17 east. She retired to her farm on Development Rd in 1988. Flo was well known for her kindness, generosity and her love to all. She will always be remembered for her baking; especially her pies. Flo will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Friends are welcome to join family at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, January 26th 2018 for visitation from 2pm - 4pm & 7pm - 9pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27th 2018 at 11am in the funeral home chapel. If desired, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre or your charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
