Dear Steve and Family - It was with sadness that I learned the passing of Darlyn (via my friend, Sandy Pohl). My earliest memories of Darlyn was when I was involved in the Kennel Club of Beaver Dam (WI) and I needed judges for a fun match we were putting on. She was so kind and so willing to help me out as a newbie show secretary and she did an excellent job of judging. I knew Darlyn also as a 4-H judge as she judged me in some adult competitions. She was fun to show to and was very knowledgeable about dogs. Her breed was Afghans and she was almost always at Westminster for the celebrations and festive parts of that wonderful venue for dogs. In May of 2012, Darlyn helped me as I tried to get my mom's house ready for an auction. She stepped in and showed me and my friend, Lou Ann, who was helping me, the ins and outs of sorting and arranging costume jewelry and other things. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the "stuff" my mom had. I was always appreciative of her work for my family. Ida Catherine Rohlf stated this, "For me it is enough to say. That something beautiful passed my way." You were an amazing individual. I am blessed to have known you and for the time that you shared with me. I believe that your spirit will be with all of us always. May the shamrocks and heather fall softly in your memory. Sleep warm, Darlyn. Until we meet again.
