Obituary for Opal M. Hammons (Brenner)

HAMMONS, Opal Marie (Brenner), age 85 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013. Opal was born in Dayton on July 1, 1928 and graduated from Wayne High School. Opal is preceded in death by her husband James Paul Hammons, her youngest son David Leon Hammons, her grandson Eric Thomas Hammons, her 2 brothers Richard Henry and Paul Brenner. Opal is survived by her children; Karen Lucille Hammons-Coriell (Robert Dunigan) and Lynda Kay Hammons-Lindsey (Hershell Lindsey), Paul Andrew Hammons; siblings Joanne McCoy, Freda Jeffers, Ronald, Kenneth and Lloyd Brenner and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and an extended family of many beloved nieces and nephews. Opal will be remembered as a happy, friendly person who laughed easily, and lived a very simple life and sincerely loved her family and friends. She brought much joy to many people. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. by Rev. Andrew Brewster. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City, OH.
