Kevin Matthews
I sorry I just found out today.
Goodbye Jerry, you were a good guy. Funny, I was just thinking about you last night and again earlier today, and then I read the Ridgewood Times a few minutes ago and see you're gone.
I was thinking about New Year's Eve's past, and what I did on those nights. It took me back to New Year's Eve 1982, December 31 1982, right after I got out of the Army, remember? a group of us went to your apartment up the block from the Firehouse for the party you threw, the group from Shannons, Jerry D'Onofrio, Ed Moon, I even think Vinnie Galapani was there, quite a few people, remember? we then went over to Shannons and closed it down.
In the many years after, when ever we ran into each other at a bar, or on say Myrtle Ave or Fresh Pond Road, we always had good conversations, we talked about alot of things, like how you were doing, how's my sisters Maureen and Nancy, my brother in law Kevin Powell. I always like running into you.
You will be missed Jerry.
My condolences to your family.
Sincerely
Kevin Matthews Glendale/Ridgewood Queens
