The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Bailey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Gone But Not Forgotton

Just a note to our family members that Uncle Bob was a great man and a wonderful person; who always displayed class, character and respect all the years of his life.  Less than a couple months ago, the immediate family had a meeting with Uncle Bob and his caregivers; where he thanked us for assisting with his overall care.  Even during this most difficult time, he mustered the strength to say THANK YOU!  It is this dignity, pride, respect, genuine concern for others and overall love for his family that willl remain with me forever.  I will never forget those great summers going to Decatur, Georgia, and having Uncle Bob always fix a hot breakfast for the family.  Playing or watching golf, watching the NBC news show, socializing with cast members from the Jeffersons tv shows, visiting the Atlanta Underground, Stone Mountain park, playing with big Corry, teaching big Corry his multiplications, playing with their toy poodle Billy, listening to Uncle Bob's stories of serving in the Army, being one of the 1st Black employees to integrate NBC news, and the list goes on and on.  No matter what situation any of the family members were in, Uncle Bob and Aunt Gin were always a beacon of light and hope for us all.  Uncle Bob, you are physically GONE, BUT CERTAINLY NOT FORGOTTON!
