I remember sitting in class during the spring semester of my freshman year at ASU reading a flyer about a summer study abroad program to Bermuda organized by Dr Teye. Little did I know then, reading over that piece of paper, the profound impact that Victor would have on my life. He introduced me to the field of tourism, and academia, for which I am extremely grateful. He was truly a great educator, and I attribute my success as an academic and educator to the lessons I learned first hand as his student, Teaching Assistant, and colleague. Over the years I was fortunate to travel with him on his study abroad programs to Austria/Holland, Australia/Fiji, and the Caribbean. I was always amazed at how much time and effort he put into organizing these trips, going above and beyond, spending his summer and winter breaks, to provide his students with their once in a lifetime experience. Writing this I can't help but reminisce about our adventures together. The last time I saw Victor, we enjoyed a beach bbq at the beach in Ghana, where I brought my own students on the study trip from Dubai. I know I was but one of the tens of thousands of students and colleagues around the world who's life was impacted by Dr Teye and who will share my sadness in his passing, yet find comfort in the shared memories and his spirit that continues on. Good bye Dr Teye, and Thank You!
