Spring time
Dear Dad,
Spring has finally arrived after a very long winter and fall without you. As the flowers are blooming on Depot Hill in our back yard, you are not there to admire their beauty. Your house stands still and possessions are slowly disappearing. I can't help but feel so much sadness but at the same time, a sense of relief because you suffered so much. You and mom were both incredibly strong in the face of death. Never did you say you were scared to die. You just weren't ready because you had so much spirit left in you. I will always admire and remember this quality about you. I hope that the trees you planted and the flowers you grow forever remain a symbol of the life you loved. Rest easy Dad!
