Mr George Nobiss was a military war hero. He served with the Winnipeg Grenadiers and during WW2, was captured and spent almost four years in a Japanese prison camp. My father, Bill Bell Sr and uncle were also captured. My uncle Gordon died there. After the war the Nobiss family. Bell family and many ex-military families lived on Bannerman Avenue, in war time houses. The parents remained good friend and all the children grew up together. They went to school together, played together and shared many birthdays over the years. Mr Nobiss was a good family man and a gentleman. The very deepest condolence to all of the Nobiss family from the Bell family.
