John William Kriegl

Age 51 of Woodbury
Passed away on February 26, 2017

John William Kriegl, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away in his home on February 26, 2017. Born on December 11, 1965 to Bethel & James Kriegl in Cleveland OH, he spent most of his youth in Bloomington, MN and Rapid City, SD. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1988 with a Bachelor in Nursing, and from St. Mary’s College in 1993 with a Master of Science in Nursing. He worked for many years as a Nurse Anesthetist at the HealthPartners Surgery Center. He is preceded in death by his father James, stepfather Irving, and is survived by his wife, children, mother Beth, siblings Lisa, Kelly, and Jim, as well as many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

John was married to the love of his life, Mary Lou, for 26 years and was a proud father to Emily and Jack. He loved being at the lake, boating, fishing, lighting fireworks and building bonfires to gather around, and cherished his memories relaxing in Mexico with his family. John was an avid Sioux hockey fan, and enjoyed watching football. He was passionate about cars, deep discussions on life, religion and other issues, and improving lives through his work. The twinkle in his eye and the “John” expressions, along with his great hugs, his special gift for teasing, quick wit, and great sense of humor left an impression on everyone who knew him. He was truly selfless, filled with integrity, incredibly courageous and strong, and was always willing to stand up for what was right. There was nothing he would not do for his loved ones or for anyone in need of help. John…..you will always be our superhero.
