Obituary for Karen M. Rieniets (McConnell)
Karen M. Reiniets, 72, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter who passed away on February 10, 2017. She is survived by a daughter, Carrie L. Brown and husband Brett of Austin, TX; and four grandchildren: Zackary Brown and wife Rachael, Benjamin, Lacey, and Caleb Brown all of Austin, TX.
Karen loved gardening, reading books, sending cards to friends and loved ones. She was cheerful, kind, and helpful to all. She retired as a computer help desk coordinator from New Mexico Highlands University. The family would like to thank her friends Jackie and Mary and the wonderful staff at Alta Vista Regional Hospital and the nursing staff at Vida Encantada Nursing and Rehab Center and to the VA Hospital and Dr. McDonald for their great care of her husband Peter Rieniets.
Cremation has taken place and the graveside committal for Peter and Karen Rieniets will be held on June 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
