Memories
On Thursday March 16, I learned that one of my two favorite childhood friends and neighbors had passed away. Growing up with Lester and Joyce and knowing Frank and Rachel Will is the best ever joys of my childhood. From playing sandlot baseball, tackle football in our yard, hours spent on dirt banks with our toy cars, kick the can, western movies at the Colorado Theater, ante ante over, riding bikes, stealing pigeon eggs from the State Fair grandstands, helping deliver newspapers occasionally, make caves in a dug out basement and of course, trying to learn to smoke. I'm sure I have forgotten more than I remember since there were so many fun times, but I will never forget the best years of growing up and Lester was a part of that. As an adult and master craftsman, he built the kitchen cabinets and closets in my present home as well as his pride and joy, my custom made and first time ever done, cutting board, still in use today.
I'm deeply saddened by his passing and know his family will miss him terribly. My deepest sympathy to each and every one of his family.
With love and fond memories. Bev Percival
