I did not really know Paul on a personal level. We were co-workers for years and then went our separate ways after leaving the office. But at least twice a year, during very important business events that Paul controlled, I was his "I.T. Department" support. These events always included many personal time hours. Weekends and late nights (early mornings!). Paul always got the job done.  What I remember now. though, is not how well he did the job. What I remember is all the times he needed to say that he needed to drop the work for a while. That he needed to coach a soccer game or attend a special birthday party.  I needed to share this with his family.
