Obituary for Lawrence J. "Larry" Dilworth

Lawrence "Larry" J. Dilworth, 79, Town of LaGrange, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY. Larry was born on April 6, 1937 in Princeton, NJ to the late John and Muriel Kircher Dilworth. He married Helen M. Dezsy on August 22, 1959 at the Holy Assumption Church in Roebling, NJ and she survives at home.

Larry attended Princeton, NJ schools, graduated from Indiana Tech and received a Masters Degree in Industrial Management and another MBA from Union College. He was employed many years at IBM in Poughkeepsie as an Electronic Engineer Manager until his retirement in 1998. Larry proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1955 to 1959. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church and enjoyed their art class. Larry also was a member of the IBM choir a coin club, bowling leagues and Wilson's Golf League in Poughkeepsie. Larry accomplished a few holes-in-one. He enjoyed traveling and was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his daughters Peggy Hlavaty and life partner Andre Said of Poughkeepsie, NY, Nancy and Tony Russ of Poughkeepsie, NY, brother Jack Dilworth of San Antonio, Tx, grandchildren Jessica, Bryan, Larissa, Lee as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm with a service at 4:30pm at the funeral home.
