Sylvia Joan Sangster (nee Bathurst) passed away peacefully on April 8, 2017 (the 5th anniversary of Jim’s death) at the age of 80, to join her husband, James ‘Jim’ Sangster and son Robert Sangster. Loving mother of Susan Sangster-Gibson (Bill), Stephen Sangster (Brenda) and Joan Sangster (Andrew Walter). Dear sister of Ida Cowan (late Archie) and Diana MacLeod (late Jim). Predeceased by her parents Thomas Bathurst and Edna Proctor and sisters; Marguerite Piché (late Maurice), Edna Ozoux (late Ray) and Betty Busch (late Randall). Cherished grandmother of Donnie (Sophie), Kelsey, Jake, Cameron Gibson, & Meghan, Thomas and Jordan Sangster. She will be missed by her Bridge and Euchre partners and many friends. ‘Thank you’ to Dr. Leigh Carson & the many nurses (especially Nina) at Cornwall Community Hospital for the wonderful care. Friends and relatives may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629), Tuesday April 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 9:30 -10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 11 am at St Joseph’s Church in Lancaster. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Sylvia a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live.
