Cheryl, Molly and Connor Cartwright
To Leona and family, we extend our deepest sympathy. Marie was a beautiful lady that leaves a legacy of memories. She touched the hearts of my children and assumed the role of adoptive grandmother. Always sending sweet cards with a little something inside. She always addressed them princess Molly and Master Connor. We would always know who they were from even before we read the return address.
Let me back up, for those who don't know who we are. I was the Frederick's mail lady. First meeting Charlie,as he would always greet me at the box with his newest joke. Marie would rescue me by telling Charlie that I had a job to do and needed to move on. But as I pulled away, I always was chuckling whether it be from his joke or just how cute those two were. Eventually, I had my two children which were quickly the focus of the mailbox greet.I was a proud mom and always had the latest photo to brag with. At Christmas I would always do a themed photo of Molly and Connor, which Marie would always ask, What will it be this year? Marie continued to keep in touch even after I transferred to Vero Beach and was no longer her mail lady. We would visit her occasionally with flowers until she left to live near her daughter and other family. As years passed the cards kept coming. I was concerned when this year the cards didn't arrive. I feared that our forever pen pal may have fallen ill. We are blessed to have known such a wonderful person and God gave her 98 years to share her grace on earth. We know that she is in the arms of the angels and reunited with Charlie. Which I'm sure he is making her laugh once again.
Once again, we offer our sincere condolences, Marie, will be truly missed.
