The Eagle Family,
Just thought I'd take some time to share some memories of our beloved Lynda. Lynda loved life, she loved her family first and foremost. She lived each day with a positive outlook and faced it head on with her awesome sense of humour. I've lived on Lake Street since 1979. I worked with Lynda on the Figure Skating Executive and the girls were part of my baby-sitting repertoire. My children used to drop by their house to share stories with her that I may or may not have approved of. She would share parts of those stories with a giggle and a grin and I would accept only what she shared, never sure I wanted to hear more. Both Howard and Lynda were there for our family when Al's health was failing. I can't thank them enough for that. They really were my second mom and dad. When my grandkids were in for a visit we had to take a trip over to their house for a quick visit. Once she was baby-sitting her guinea pig grandkids so from then on I would say to my grandkids "let's go visit Lynda" and if that didn't spark a response I would say "the guinea pig lady". I know I'll have some explaining to do when the grandkids arrive for their next visit. She was my daughter, Genia's biggest FB fan. I would arrive for coffee at MacDonald's to hear, did you see......................on Genia's FB. I would have to usually say no, but I'll have to check it out. She loved everyone like they were family. The one person she however, had very little love for was the NHL's Alexander Ovechkin. The Capital's were in the play-offs the week Lynda passed and even though I was cheering for them, the night they were eliminated I couldn't help think how happy Lynda would have been! I became the closest to Lynda these last couple of years after my retirement. I'll miss you my friend and all the fun conversations we enjoyed at coffee. Coffee time will never be the same. I can just picture you now sitting having coffee with Al, Hannah on your lap trying to lick your face! MISS YOU FOREVER!!!!
Love, Maryvel
