Jeanne Lauree Siegel, 76, of Morrill, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Morrill United Methodist Church with Rev. George Kilmer officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place in accordance with Jeanne’s wishes. Memorials may be made to Order of the Eastern Star – Sunflower Chapter 214 or the Morrill Methodist Church.
Jeanne was born September 9, 1940 in Scottsbluff to Edgar A. Roquet and G. Fyrne (Smalley) Roquet. She attended school in Morrill where she enjoyed being a cheerleader, playing her clarinet in the band, tap dancing and graduating with the class of 1958.
She married Frederick (Casey) Siegel on October 25th, 1959 and they had two daughters, Shelley and Kay Lauree.
Jeanne attended the University of Nebraska and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta. She returned to Morrill after college, and began working for John R. Jirdon for nearly 20 years and ultimately retired from work in 2002 from Jirdon Agri Chemicals.
She enjoyed golfing, fishing, RVing, her time in Arizona and being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Morrill and Mitchell. She especially enjoyed playing bridge and the nickel club with four of her greatest friends.
Jeanne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and fighter, and for her kind heart and fun loving spirit.
Survivors include her husband Casey, of Scottsbluff; children, Shelley (Carl) Iwasaki of Greeley, CO and Kay Lauree (Alan) Mills of Cheyenne, WY; and brothers, Jerry (Fran) Roquet of Leavenworth, WA and Don (Suzanne) Roquet of Greeley, CO.
