Carol Whited Ramey, age 64, of the Clark’s Valley section of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Thursday (July 14, 2017) at her home. Born June 21, 1953 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of Mason Branson and Hazel Marie Compton Whited of Swords Creek, Virginia. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended The Worship Center in Swords Creek, Virginia and was self-employed as a bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Dean Miller; one half-brother, Leslie “Scrooge” Coleman; maternal grandparents, Norman and Myrtle Compton and paternal grandparents, Walter and Jennie Whited.
In addition to her parents, survivors include one son, Harley Dillion Ramey of the home; one granddaughter, Daisy Ramey; sisters and brothers, Wanda Ray and husband, Jackie, Donnie Whited, Ted Whited and wife, Karen, Doug Whited and wife, Stacy, Sandy Perkins and husband, Charlie, Michael Whited and wife, Brandy; half-brothers and half-sisters, Eddie Gauldin, Roy Gauldin, Lisa Hale and husband, Lee, Patty Berry and husband, Shane, Tammy Whited, Rhonda Stevens and husband, Michael and Kathy Ward and husband, Dusty; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phyllis Brooks and Rev. Wayne Damron officiating. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 PM Monday in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Entombment will follow. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 5 PM Sunday at the Honaker Funeral Home.
