The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lloyd Chief can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Gwen Garratt Rempel

I'm saddened to hear of Lloyd's passing. He and Gladys were very dear friends of mine and my family (the Garratts) in Frenchman Butte. My earliest memory of Lloyd and his wife Gladys was the Sunday afternoons when we used to gather at their home for a church service led by Elwood McLean. The time frame would have been the early 1960's. I would often play my accordian for those services, and others would play their guitars. We made a pretty good gospel band! Homes were much smaller in those days than they are now, but Lloyd and Gladys always made room in their cozy home for everyone that came. Some times there was standing room only. And after the service, there was always coffee and a tasty lunch. Wonderful memories! I'll always remember Lloyd for his smile. He was a good man, and he will be missed.
