Dear Jeff, I learned of Alleen's passing from Carol Frangipane, just as I was leaving Rochester for a brief trip to Minnesota for a family wedding over this past weekend. I am sorry that I did not return in time to attend the memorial service for Alleen at Asbury. Alleen first welcomed me to Rochester in 1984, and she made me feel connected to the City Schools in so many ways. I always admired her dedication and compassion, and I learned much about teaching and supervising from observing her caring manner of support for her colleagues.
