Message: Arlys was truly a joy to be around! I worked with Arlys at Sanford Vermillion for several years. She could always manage to put a smile on your face even on the toughest of days. Her smile and laughter were very contagious. Arlys really touched the lives of the patients that she would see every day, and some would specifically ask to see Arlys when they came to the clinic. May the family find comfort by the memories of her stories, smile and laughter!

Candle From: Chon Sommervold

Message: I worked with Arlys at Sanford Clinic Vermillion. She was a delight to all; those of us who worked with her and to the patients. We had a locum physician working for us and somehow he and I were talking about rhubarb. He hadn't had rhubarb in years. I asked Arlys if she had any in her freezer (I knew she would) and then asked her if she would mind making a rhubarb cake and bringing it in the next day for this physician. Of course the rest of us benefited from this as well! I have this recipe from her. We enjoyed talking about food, flowers, garage sales and arts/craft fairs over the years. The last time I saw Arlys was at the Alcester City-Wide garage sales, June 2016. When I found out that she was ill, we enjoyed texting with each other. She kept a positive attitude. I will miss her.

Message: I have many beautiful flowers in my yard thanks to Arlys' generosity sharing her plants as she thinned them out. I named the "fuzzy" peony Arlys the day I got it from her, and I look forward to seeing it bloom even more now than I did before.
