Ken Bernacky
Emma, Bridget, Mark, Christine, Paul, Paul, and family:
My deepest of condolences, you’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Eddie was a kind, caring, compassionate person, traits that I strongly suspect were taught to him by you Emma, and John. Two instances immediately come to mind which illustrate these characteristics:
1) A few years ago I was in the shop on Thanksgiving Day, Eddie walked by, saw me, and walked in. He, knowing that I have no family, said “Kenny, would you like to spend Thanksgiving with me and my family?” To this day, his classy act of thoughtful consideration brings me to tears.
2) In our final conversation, last week, he became aware of a recent problem that I had and the unorthodox way in which I resolved it. He expressed displeasure that I didn’t come to him for his help. He ended our conversation with the last words that I’ll ever hear him speak “Kenny, you are my friend.” I will always remember Eddie for those most special last words.
And Eddie, bro, whether it be in life or in death, you will always be my kind, caring, compassionate, forever friend.
Love,
Ken Bernacky
