Obituary for John C. DeBlasio

John C.  DeBlasio
John C. DeBlasio, 90, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday September 24, 2017. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born and raised in Greenwich Village, NY to the late Geantano and Frances DeBlasio, John worked as an Offset Pressman with the Adams Group for 41 years until he retired. He was a proud WWII Veteran serving in the Army Air Corp. John moved to Elizabeth, NJ in 1961 to raise his family. He resided in Elizabeth until moving to Toms River, NJ in 2013. John was the most unselfish and giving man. He loved to fish and crab and spent many family summer vacations doing so in Keansburg, NJ. John is predeceased by his four brothers Willie, Ralphie, Tony and Red. He is survived by his loving wife Ida of 67 years; his three children Judy, John (Teri), Joanne Szymanski (Bob); His five grandchildren, Kailin Szymanski, Adam Szymanski (Caitlin), Matthew DeBlasio (Diana), Nicholas DeBlasio (Maria), Keri Cilento (Keith); His brother Robert "Didi" DeBlasio (Diane); seven great grandchildren Keeley, Ani, Jaden, Gianna, Jace, Dylan, Jamie, and his dog Zoey whom he rescued, loved dearly, and who never left his side. John's memorial service will take place Saturday September 30, 2017 2-4pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. Donations may be made in John’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
