I had the good fortune of working with Mary at Middleton Building Supply. She has been a huge influence and inspiration to me since I am young. Mary was someone of deep understanding, knowledge, and character. I always enjoyed talking to her about everything she was doing, and she would always tell me about her son and his wonderful wife. I know she was very, very proud of them.
Her goal was to make people laugh and smile, and she did just that. I worked closely with her on decorating the store and brainstorming about homemade decorations, year-round and especially at Christmas. She challenged me to think about things in new ways and to always strive to do better, but most importantly, to have fun while doing it.
When I look around the store, I see so much of Mary and try to look for ways to continue what she did. I consider myself lucky to have known Mary, and I know that I am not the only person whose life was brightened by her.
I would like to offer my sincere condolences.
